Electrical Mayhem!

I have been plagued by a string of electrical problems in my '99 Rodeo LS

From purchase (used), the fuel indicator has been WAY off. No problem, I keep track of my mileage between fueling.

Suddenly, the left tail light and front low beam went out.
Then, the Cruise Control began to function intermitantly.
Each day I live with fear of the next issue.

Fuses are all fine as far as I can see (block style fuses are difficult to determine).

Anyone have an idea of why this might be happening?
What can I do to fix the problem?

There is a how to on this site for fixing the fuel indicator (cost less then 40 bucks).

as for the electrical problems, it could be a sign of a weak battery, bad battery connections, bad battery ground or the alt is on the way out.
