Well I'm not too much into the street racing thing. Seems to dangerous and I can't afford to wreck my car or go to jail, but anyways this was at 4 in the morning on a big lighted street with absolutely no cars around so I didn't see the harm in it...
I was coming home and this guy kept following me...I knew he wanted to race but I wasnt into it at first ...eventually we got to a light and on the other side of the light it merges so I knew I had to beat him to the merge or else he might hit me..so on the green I floor it and totally smoke him..then after the merge he pulls up next to me again, I was only like 1/4 mile from my apt so I was like sure whatever man..and we take off again and i get a cars length or two ahead before getting into the turning lane to get into my apt..the funny thing is he pulls up next to me and kinda parks his car on the street and we have a lil conversation about how fast my car is..he said he was driving his dads car, but I'm not sure wat it was..never got a really good look at it from the rear view mirror  I should have told him I was selling my car..maybe his dad would have bought it for him!
Well this is my first race and it was very exciting. It was also great to see what my car could do. I'v never really driven it hard like that and I'm glad it held up like I thought it would.

What if you would have slowed down and yielded?

lol I wouldn't talk down on Metros.
I have a 3 cylinder Turbo Sprint (what they wre before they were metros) and when it is running right, it is easily a 14 second car.

1600 lb with 100+ rwhp = 14 second 1/4 miles.
I believe the Sprint Turbo was 7 seconds 0-60 from the factory. :p

The reactions were usually good ... usually laughter.
They were in shock.
This is what my sprint looks like:

sorry...got busy at work...i got a 270 whp 95 talon tsi, and like i said i didnt see wat he had..but it wasnt like a civic, or accord, or mustang or anything like that..it was definitly a newer car like a 2000+ yr model car, but i dunno, and i thought about slowing down to let him pass, but if he was next to me lookin at me to race he prob wouldnt see the merge and might have either bumped me, or cause me to hit the curb, or i would have had to slam on the break, plus i knew i could beat him to the merge pretty easily :iceslolan it wasnt a dangerous situation..even after the merge you can still fit 2 cars in there easily..i just mainly wanted to race him and see what my car can do..its supposed to be a 13 sec ride

what mods do you have?
1995 Eagle Talon Tsi (http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=164594616)
Heres the link to my mods and pics from autotrader.
As for why I have mods but dont race?
Thats exactly what I realized recently. That's why my plan is to sell the car, get a cheapo to get me around reliably. Then buy a 240 sx to mod up so I can have something fun to drive and can learn about cars and won't have to worry about burning out my clutch and not having a ride to work or anything like that. I bought the car with all the mods and then spent a lot of money making it more reliable. The first month or two I had this car, I had some stuff go wrong and spent some time in the shop, and I had to borrow my gf's car just to get to work. There are a whole host of problems that can go wrong and although they are little they would still take up time making it a hassle for me to get to work. Once I get my 240sx i will have absolutely no fear of racing around town and taking it to the track and running into a wall or something :icon16:
Another thing I might do is just save up and get another cheapo car and keep this car, but I would rather not get a second car until I get outta debt and that means selling this car and then saving up. :disappoin

Yea man, that's quite a car...I wouldn't sell it unless you have no other option. :2cents:

yeah i love this car and I'm not in a hurry to sell it, but I'm somewhat of a noobie to cars. I know how they work like on paper, but would have a hard time pointing things out under the hood. This car already had all the "fun things" put in it. My dad knows alot about cars, he even took a Harley Davidson mechanic home course just for fun, but he knows more about maintance than performance. He said it would be fun to have a project car to work on. He never had a chance to have a fun car when he was a kid, so this would be some good bonding time to have a car to work on.
