Myth about High Output

I noticed a thread not too long ago about someone spotting a side emblem saying "High Output Vortec" on the side of new trucks...well if your in the market for a new truck, Chevrolet has added an option for 2004-2005 model years...You can option up to a 6.0L HO V8 in a 1/2 ton pickup. The 2004 models only come in extended cab and early 2005 (possibly as soon as November this year) you can get it in a single cab. Typically, only the 6.0 comes in the HD or 2500 series...but now its available in the 1500. The only difference between the 6.0L and the 6.0L HD is 15 hp. So 325hp in a single cab sounds good to me anyway. Another option is the REGENCY RST conversion for an extra 9 grand...some more info on www.regencyvans.com, picture below.

Your right Black, I checked another website from GM about it, I was basing my hp number off a non-trusting site...still cool though.

It must be 2004.5 trucks then. My grandpa bought a 2004 in September I think and the biggest engine available was the 5.3L 295 horsepower V-8. And his truck is fully loaded except for leather seats.

Only 957 "VHO" trucks were made in 2004. They were built at the Oshawa plant in Canada. I believe that production of the Silverado SS was halted for a month or two in order to build these few pilot trucks. The 2005 VHO will resume in November, however I don't think there are plans to offer it in a RCSB, only in an extended cab. Here's a photo of mine. Sticker was $33,000 and I paid around $26,000.
