Very expensive but I'm sure its well worth it when you hit the Track , Although imagine what you would do to your Tranny and Rear end with that Package

well worth it? i dont know about that. twin turbos should be putting out more than that. i think its kind of waste to only be running 3psi. i guess its just cuz they are running stock everything practicaly. if it wasnt for that im sure it would be pumping out alot more. the banks SBC turbo kit makes like 800HP or something i think. i guess it might be worth it just because its a kit and comes with everything though. there arnt to many companys that i know of puting out tt stuff for small black chevys. i wish there were though, or atleast companys puting out individual parts like just the headers/manifolds and stuff.

well i think they set it at 3psi and clearly state that it canot be changed cause they provide a warranty, sure there prolly capable of alot more with an engine built for it but they dont know what your gunna bring them

That kind of Horsepower out of a TPI set up is worth it , TPI by nature are Torque animals but in most cases lack up top horsepower because of the length of the runner's and with some minor mods I bet you it would provide much better number's while giving the same amount of Torque

The auction say's it includes labor and comes as a kit so I'm assuming. They include everything to meet there advertised rating but anyone who is power hungry would want to make some other mod's to take better advantage of the Turbo's

Although I have to say I was fooled a couple time's by sleeper's lately . One was this stock looking S2000 even had the stock muffler's and this guy boosted on my a$$ and my friend who was riding shot gun was like out sh*t what just happen he has the same car and I smoke him. Well the guy pulled into a gas station and I asked him what he had and he has supercharger and NOS. I also got smoked by a stock looking WRX Sti which was pushing extra boost

TPI and LS1 induction system's are completely different and I highly doubt it will work but that question would be better asked to the seller of the product. Also in the future I will try to answer you as quickly as possible instead of trying to carrying on my own conversation!

Yeah you have to be very careful when it comes to running for money which I don't do anymore. I have gotten beat by too many cars I should kill stock for stock and I was modded

hmm He makes it sound like a twin turbocharger setup is soooooooooo much better :screwy: a Single turbo setup is more efficient than twins. Twins are good for spoolup but thats about it. Just put an automatic behind it and spool it once and be done with it.
This guy is kinda weird, 3 PSI for each turbo? So it makes you think that you will have 6 PSI WRONG!!!!! Unless he was to have them hooked up sequentialy (which he does not) you still will have 3 PSI of boost. And how in the HELL are you going to jump from 200 something to 500+ on 3 PSI. Also, the engine he has in the pic has Turboneticus turbochargers on them (Not Garret) also, thoes are not TBO3 turbos, these are what tbo3 turbos look like http://www.thedodgegarage.com/turbo/turbo_t3.jpg and they are the stock turbos on the dodge turbo III engine
Man this is a ripoff from hell...

06-23-2004, 10:42 PM
naw, probly not, i wonder if they just sell the manifolds, for like 300-400 bucks, just so you can fab up your own setup. im just toying on ideas for my next engine, NA, supercharged, or turbocharged. and whatnot, just food for thought for me. may not be the best option, but damn that would be a sexy setup under the hood.

my red camaro needs an overhaul bad how much would it cost to have a 5.0 tpi rebuilt. i cant afford those big mods to make it faster im just happy with the way they run stock.
89IROC&RS
06-23-2004, 10:49 PM
well how mechanical are you??? a rebuild kit with bearings piston rings, and all that goes for around 400 bucks???? from Summit and PAW and such, and it would save you from the really expencive part, the labor.
but for labor, look at around 18 hours labor at a dealership to start, probly more. it would be cheaper to have a new shortblock dropped in.

Just one thing... all things being equal, 15PSI would give you double the power of n/a, because you would have twice as much air crammed in your cylinders, which means twice as much fuel burning which means twice as much energy etc you get the idea... 3psi is what kind of increase, 20%, how can it make HP like that, it sounds unreasonable.

06-24-2004, 10:24 AM
anyone else think those are bad positions for turbos? i understand that you cant get around the fact that heat is an issue on turbocharged cars, but i would think that the heat pollution on that engine would be too much...
