some choice quotes from the article:

"Illegal downloading continues to cause enormous harm to the entire music community," said Steven Marks

The recording industry blames lagging music sales in recent years on the rise of online music piracy.

Perhaps, if they wised up they'd realize that it's the unmitigated elephant dung they attempt to label as music that's the real reason sales are down. Aside from that, who wants to buy from mega-corporations that sue 13 year old girls?
Justice could be served if the people who they are sueing had to pay, exactly what their songs were worth (IMHO their weight in horse manure) - a fraction of the cost of a CD. :2cents:

I've only bought a few records the last several years - not because I've downloaded songs, but because the songs out there SUCK!

Bloke is right - they should take a closer look at the products their peddling.

Once they start putting out good music then we'll start buying. I've bought one cd since 2000 or 2001 and that was about 2 months ago. Going after more and more people is going to do nothing more than turn people off from buying music. Do they really expect these kids they have sued and are sueing to ever buy music in the future........i think not.

not to mention they dug their own grave by not only offering shit tastic music for us to buy, but by charging an arm and a leg for it. $20....i dont think so.

there are a few talented bands out there making records on major labels....funny thing is, they dont care if you DL or not.
