Torque Steer?

ok.... this fucking sucks... I replaced my upper control arm, wasnt my camber problem, changed the knuckle, it was my problem. The my alignment was WAYYYYYYYY off after changing it. Sucked. Went to get it aligned at minakee, they wouldnt because the right tie rod was loose.. UGH! Took it to my mechanic and replaced the inner and outer tie rods. Yay all new. went to get it aligned again, this time at midus, and they aligned it, but then they told me my right front brake hose was torn and was spewing fluid everywhere. I was like WTF? 2 previous shops checked the car out and now a damn problem and now its cut?!?!? and it looked so fresh like it was just cut! ugh!

So I said I'm only paying for the alignment. So I took the car back to MY mechanic and said "yes the is cut, run to pep boys and buy the hose quickly. I spent 2 hours driving around looking for someone who had the fucking hose! after everything was fixed I started to feel this very annmoying thing. Torque steer! When ever I accelerate, the car pulls to the left FAST. if I let go, the car jerks and goes straight. :( What could be wrong!!? Also, my right shock is SOOOO stiff still! it barely bounces! this car sucks!!! Help!!!! How can torque steer be fixed or helped???

They tore or cut your brakeline (maybe on purpose, who knows), and they probably algined it poorly too...a shitty algniment could be one reason you notice torque steer so much now when you didn't before, the other could be that extremly stif front shock. If it barly bounces and the left one is softer, then of course the left shock is compressing and rebounding more than the right. If you think about it, that means it's uneven to the left side, which has more movment. Now, the drive wheel on a civic is the left wheel. That may explain why it is torque steering so bad to the left, considering the drive wheel (left) shock is softer and bouncier than the right shock. My advice is have a place that your mechanic knows is honest check the algiment out for you, and maybe look into replacing the other shock. Had to tell without being there. I hope I helped a bit.

You helped out alot! Damn I get so tired of fighting with my steering wheel as I start moving from a red light. 1st and second gear pull HARD and 3rd is a lil less pulling and of course 4th is the least. The more I step on the gas, of course the harder it pulls. and I REALLY mean PULL to the left. I could be on the right lane in a 3 lane road and if I floor it in 1st gear, I'll end up in the far left lane in under 4 seconds. Does this cause uneven tire wear also?

Well, if any part of that is a misaligned suspension then diffenatly. Especially if the toe is out. I guess it depends on what the culprite is, but I am guessing it's a combo of a few things, bad alginment, the other shock, etc...if any part of it is bad alignment, then it definatly could case uneven tire wear. At the very least, it's can be dangerous to a car that pulls so hard to one side all the time. I am sorry to hear all the places you've been seem to be crooked. Hopefully, you can figure it all out and get it fixed finally without havin someone mess something else up.

I am so glad I am still alive today. I was driving to my ex's house, taking kind of a back road which is usually empty but very wide. the road constantly turns left and right. I'm coming from walmart, as im slowly turning towards the left and right I kinda felt the car slipping a lil (it was raining today) and then as im turing left at 35 mph (not a left turn but the road slightly turns left) my front wheels gave out and lost grip of the road and I spun outa control at least 5 times and ended up perpendicular to BOTH lanes.... well... blocking both ways of traffic. I didnt hit anything at all and im so glad there were NO cars coming either ways. After my car stopped spinning, I sat there for like a min with my heart pounding really hard all scared. My car wouldnt start for about 15 seconds. I guess the movement shuts off the car? Man what an expirience. Ive fishtailed in my explorer many times by mistake, but that doesnt compare to this today. have any of you had this happen to you? I wasnt even driving fast! or crazy! 35 MPH! and the sign recommended you go max 40 MPH lol. either my suspension is bad or I need new Michellin V4's which arent cheap for my rims. My left front tire is SIGHTLY bald by the way but ive driven with severly worn tires and nothing has ever happened like this before!

Consider some steel braided brake lines......They help a great deal......not too mention they wont cut them.....Talk about stopping power,,I have 12 inch front rotors and think the rears are 11. With EBC green stuff pads and steel lines at all 4 corners.......the wheels dont get all nasty and the car stops on a dime and gives change back.
