AC - 97 Explorer

AC on the 97 will not cut in until I plug the low limit connector in and out a few times then only stays on for 10-15 mins. Does this mean recharge time? :banghead:

Before you do the plug dance, does the compressor constantly click, trying to come on? If so, then yes it's low on freon. To be absolutely certain pick yerself up a gauge and test the pressures, following the instructions that come with it.

Compressor does not click but can hear the engine surging. After I wiggle the plug a bit the compressor comes on, but after driving for a while the AC cuts out again.
