two short questions

First, anyone deal or know the deal with SGP racing, the place in Texas?
Second, I am geting a clicking sound in my engine and im thinking its a valve. When i start going it gets faster. idle, it is steady. is that the valve? ...hmm anyway, thats it for now

SGP Racing is a performance company in Texas. They'll do anything and everything for your Z. They are the mack daddy as far as I'm concerned.

The clicking is a valve. Put oil in your car and I'll (rhetorically) bet you 20 bucks it'll stop...

i just ordered my front slotted brake rotors from sgp. hopefully i will get them tomorrow. i am going to order almost everything from sgp.

i have been to sgp. its only like 35miles from my house. its a pretty big shop but i heard from a couple of X customers that you don't want to leave ur car with them cause they will take parts from your car and use it on another Z or something like that. but if anybody wants to order anything don't order from sgp! order directly from d manufactor. sgp don't make any of their products (like JWT or z1motorsports) they buy them from someone else.

that is why sgp is usually cheaper. if you buy it directly from the company, they usually mark up the price. at least from what i have seen.

I highly doubt that...this is a reputable company that I've heard QUITE a bit about. I doubt they'd take things off other cars like that. I think you can ship your car or engine there. I'd just do the engine...send it to them and do one of the rebuild services they offer...not too expensive and tons of bang for the buck.

As for the parts they sell, usually it is cheaper to buy factory direct, freak. When you do that, you usually eliminate what the middle man would be taking for his cut. Less mark-up.

sgp work on my pulley and after they were done they told me that i need it to replace my fan!! something fishi about that was that i had check my fan prior to taking my z ova to sgp n it was fin. they show me that my fan was cracking n i was telling my self, no way i just check it. n they were instigating for me to get it fix n thats were i remember what my friend told me about sgp. they also found an exhaust leak n it was gonna cost me like 1000 to get it fixed but i had also just taken my car to nissan for a 14 point check n they didn't find that exhaust leak so if anybody is gonna send their car to sgp be carefull n doubble check what u have n don't have!! take pictures n make a file

yeah 10k is, but depending if i get something towards it, pending sport compact pro, it may be 5k

z1 motorsports can do the tt swap for around 6k....use the other money to buy upgrades so when they are installing your tt engine they can mod it a little.

if you had a 300zx na with less than 70k miles would u guys do the swap even though it cost 6k.... i mean i know i can go and buy a 300zx tt for about 8k but i want one that is in the shape mine is in. The leather is perfect, body is perfect, sound system, and i got new suspension and a new brake setup.

dont they know, it has been proven, that side mount intercoolers get higher horsepower on the z than do fron mount intercoolers.

its all about the look my friend, but then again, maybe thats not good, cause hey, thats typical, like i promised SCP. I want it to be unique and something DIFFERENT and hell if it works better than front moutn. ill hit that up. just do the intake under the nose panel

Unique what? Side mounts are the stock setup (although they aren't true side mounts like the one on the RB25DET, as a true side mount is actually on the side of the motor with an electric fan on it...they suck, but I guess you could call them split front mounts or whatever, one on each side in the front corners, which is why TT Zs got the vents up there and NAs don't). Interesting how they split the intercooler top and bottom but really you're not saving much in the way of total intake length as now you're going back and forth accross the engine bay. You really got to think of it as two 1.5Ls sharing a crank rather than a whole engine, atleast when you are setting up the tubing.


The only thing I don't get is why the hell is it still rolling with stock brake calipers? They look tiny in those rims. That and "Roller girl" really isn't that great looking. Maybe its an Aussie thing...


That and the yellow is kind of a pasty, bright yellow...too much chrome...ah hell maybe I'm "just being difficult"....but really the leather kind of looks like ass...all wrinkled...I know its for stretch when that guys fat ass sits down but dash board has got it too...

they prob. and usually mean they will send it out in 2-3 days, then on top of that the 3 days or more for it to travel

I was thinking the same exact thing (even the same wording...that's odd). It's all good though...it's all in fun and the questions have been answered.

Also, there are upgraded intercoolers that go into the stock locations. They're on the stillen website.

yes, this guy i talk to a lot, he has a stage VII, yes, i said stage 7, and he has the stillen intercoolers. everything on the exterior of his car is stock (except the panel between the headlights). here is his website www.chargen.net (http://www.chargen.net)

Stage VII and only pusing ~350 hp? That's not right...you should be getting that at stage III...

Stage VII should be alot more then 350hp.

Stage III is general defined as intake, exhaust and a slight boost increase maybe with ECU (it better be).

That should get you to about 320-340 rear wheel horsepower vs stock say...260ish rear wheel hp (figure 300 at the crank etc...)

Watch the videos too, they're pretty damn good. I was pausing the Z compliation one a bunch of times to check out all the still shots in it that flash by.

I'd love to watch the vids, but my bandwidth blows nut.

My beater is a celica and it's front wheel drive. Luckily it's just a beater and is nowhere near fast...fwd makes some cars feel kinda funny when turning under hard acceleration (torque steer) and I don't like it.

Second....We make many of the parts we sell and I resell parts like JWT, Nismo, Greddy, etc for BIG discounts from what you could get them straight from the manufacturer for. An Example is the JWT ECU for the TT....JWT sells it for $695 and I sell it for $575.

Honestly you will get people on both sides of the fence. Some people are hard core Z1 customers and some are SGP Racing Customers.

All I can tell you is SGP Racing has been doing 300zx's since 1996 and Import Cars since 1994. We have built the quickest and fastest street driven Z's in the United States and we have built cars with the most Rwhp in the United States.

So do your research and decide what is the best for you. I can tell you from experience.......Cheapest isn't always the best ;-).

haha I hear y man. I just got a little weary cause people saying they lost parts off their car, then saying Z1 is cheaper with things, anyway, ill do just that. You should def. try to hit up the NC show though, gather up some crew and head out for a few days, its gonna be sick.
