97 GMC / Transmission cooler

First time posting... Hello to all.
Started to install transmission cooler on my 97. My problem (one of many today) is I don't know which of the two lines attached to the radiator is the return line.?.?
I started the engine, applied brake, shifted into drive, waited a couple min, then felt both lines; to see which was the coolest (per directions). Problem is both lines were equally warm. Now I don't know what to do? :banghead:
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.!.!

at the radiator/cooler...the upper line is the return line to the trans
