For those that use Tamiya acrylic (in the bottle) paints. What airbrush do you use. I am using a Badger 200 with a medium head and just can't seem to get a wet coat.

Im using an Iwata HP-BC with some modifications to it. I usually spray about 23-28PSI (yes I know its high). I usually do an almost 1:1 mix.

I think it would be a good idea to make a database of paint for airbrush.

Brand of the paint, mixing ratio, PSI and what you use to clean the Airbrush.

for beginer, it's hard to find all those information since mixing is different for praticly every brand of paint

I use a Paasche VL double-action. #5 needle. 15-20psi. I thin 1/1 with Tamiya Thinner. My wet coats come out looking nice and glossy but they seem to stay soft for a very long time - Tamiya masking tape still leaves a mark after 3 weeks.

I used to own a 200 and one big problem it has is you cannot open it's spray very wide because paint starts collecting on the tip then spritzing on your paintjob. If in any way you can afford it step up to the Badger 175 Crescendo it opens up much wider and the tip is flush(so no paint collecting) you will get much better results. The 200 was one of the most troublesome airbrushes I have owned. The 175 is the most trouble free.

I use an Aztek A470 with the "white" tip at 12-15 psi. Also when I want a REALLY glossy finish I add some Future to the paint and then thin it.
