hey guys i went to a impound action over the weekend
i stayed throughout the whole thing and when everything
cleared there sat a 1980 turbo trans am black with
gold pin striping. it was in the back of the lot.
i asked the owner if they would let her go.
he said a thousand dallars and she is yours. so i
checked her out. the body, to my surprise is in
great shape no rust holes but there is surface rust in '
some places. this car was actually broke into 10
years ago, the wiring harness has been cut right
before they go into the fire wall plug under the dash.
so i wrote the man a check for the car. and the man
even hauled it to my house for $150. but anyway,
my dad says if i wire them wires back up the car will
probally burn to the ground. but if i put all the colors
back together and use cramp connectors will it still
be screwed up? what should i do?

If you connect the wires back up properly I see no reason why you could have any trouble. Its not like you would have to replace them all or something just because they've been cut.

i think your dad was just expresing his lack of faith in your wiring abilities ;)
but yeah, if you proporly crimp and seal all the wires, correct color for correct color, you should be fine.
