Hey,

I've been researching possible cars for about 15-20 grand (canadian) and have narrowed it down to these:

1990 Nissan 300zx TT
1997 Mitsubishi GSX
1994 Toyta Supra n/a (then buy a large turbo and installing after)
2002 Subaru WRX

Feel free to give your opinions about each one, and you may add 1-2 cars that you think would be great and in the price range, but mostly just stick to comparing these 4. Thanks for your time

for your price range i doubt ull find the wrx, so id say 300zxtt. the supra n/a will be a bitch to turbo and the gsx can beat it. so 300zx is the best choice

supra.

better used w/o turbo. probably not beat into the ground as hard

it all depends what you want to do with it and what you want the car to do. (what kinds of mods you want or whatever, or what youre looking for a in a stock car: fast, handles well, looks good, etc)

so give us some more details

btw, i figure it will take only a few more posts for freakonaleash to jump in with the 300Z

lol yea...well the gsx seems to be the odd one out so far, i've actually seen a few wrx's for 18 grand which isnt too bad

the 300zx tt seems to be the one i'm most interested in and it looks nice as well

as of now im just looking for the car that has great stock performance as well as the easiest to mod

then id go with the supra or the Z. (Z in the end tho, i think it looks less ricey than a supra IMO)

^ you say the same as me, however its not that it looks less ricey, cuz thats not true. what makes yhe car rice is the STUPID bodykits some of them have on them

I'd go with the WRX, can't beat AWD and tons of potential. I wouldn't even consider a Supra N/A, good car, but if it's not the turbo then it's not worth it. The 300ZX TT also a great option, and I'm sure you can find newer ones for that price if you look around.

WRX,for sure- there'll probably be some warranty left over.

What the hell are you talking about? A Supra, in Canada, for 15-20 grand, are you kidding me? There is no way in the world you are finding a working Supra for that cheap in Canada. it's impossible. My friend searched for a long time and found 2 Supras on the market both for around 30 and 35. If you could actually buy a Supra for 15 grand damn id buy one...

if I may, I would like to vote for a Subaru Impreza 2.5RS and with the money left over, turbo-charge it and beef up the suspenion/brakes/and other stuff you want.
they are like 300 to 400lb's lighter then the wrx IIRC. and you can get them as a coup. :)

He said himself he was researching cars between 15-20 and the supra was one of the ones he found...I am just pointing out that there is no 94 supra na or tt that are that cheap. and easy I wasnt trying to be vicious, just pointing out that for 15-20 you can really only get an 87 supra or around that....there was no real negtive intention

buddy i've been on autotrader for months searching for many cars, and personally with my own 2 fucking eyes saw at least 3 NATURALLY ASPIRED supras for close to 20 grand, so dont tell me what you THINK a car should be worth

mason_RsX
06-23-2004, 09:06 AM
and I have never seen auto trader in my life? the first car when you search for a supra is a 1994 na supra (exactly what you said you were looking for) and what does it cost? $29,900 exactly the 30 grand cost I told you...if you want a 15 grand na supra you have to get a 90 supra.....and you said a 94...so its not what I think the cost is its what i know...call Paul at 416-917-1047 and ask Paul how much his supra na costs...its 30 grand...and notice I haven't sworn once at you in my reply

Skyline Canada, he's just giving you some input based on his personal experience (im not saying anything for or against it) So you can take it or leave it, no point in getting all bent out of shape at this guy.

and glad to see youve kept a cool head through this mason.

If you can find a supra or 300 for 15 or 20 grand then great, go for it! but just be aware that they may be harder to find. thats all we're saying.

good luck with your new car!
