horse power

i check the engine horse power from jdm i saw wrxst15and 16 got 278 hp@6500rpm and bore got 92mm redline 8000,toque 250lbs/ft.@4kdoes this mean this engine is faster than 3sgte?

You can not determine which car is faster by comparing which engine has more power.

That's like saying I have more bills in my wallet than you, so I must have more money. Not true. I could have five $10 bills and you could have one $100 bill. :)

It takes the whole car to make you go fast. The weight of the vehicle is just as important as the power of the engine. Gearing also plays a big role.
That is only 3 factors, there are many more ... how many wheels get power? ...etc ...

All you can know from comparing engine output is which engine makes more power.

gee thanks for the info can you list some parts to add more speed to my aw11 mr2 1987 4age non turbo 1600cc? only to the extend that can pass on the smog station in california I got 214kmiles pass every time.
