Ok i have a 2003 2.5 RS and was wondring if there was anyway to re calibrate my speedometer. i want to put new guages on, but they only come for the wrx, and the speed readings will differ. Anybody have any ideas?!?

Why would the speed readings differ? Aren't the tires/wheels the same size, hence the same wheel RPMs for both vehicles, hence the same speedo reading?

Maybe the numbers on the guage are different. I know my TS only reads to 120 and the WRX reads to 140, I thought the RS read to 140 too but maybe not?

Nah the RS only goes to 120 and the WRX one goes to 140 so i didnt think that one all the way through :banghead: . what i ended up doing was keeping the one for the gas and tach, but leaving the speedometer alone! it gives it a pretty cool custom look! :smokin:

Will the 04 STi guage cluster work in an 02 wrx? i wouldnt see why not. Just wondering cause they make a custom set of turbo guages etc that match the cluster.

The numbers are different, sure, but is the actual measuring device any different? And, if you're just talking about sticking another set of numbers on the same gauge, see if the distance between the numbers is the same. If so, you could just rotate the gauge to fit the appropriate needle sweep.

I was thinking we were talking about putting all new actual gauges in, but putting in just faces would be tricky.

I've heard of people putting JDM STi clusters in their WRX's so I guess it would work

The newer Sti guage cluster is completely different looking than the 02 wrx. Was just curious as to if it fits/works with the 02 wrx. Which jdm sti cluster are they using? 02 or 04?

I'm pretty sure I remember seeing someone use an 04 WRX cluster in an 02 WRX when they did a front end swap. But yeah the people I were talking about were using the 02 STi clusters, so no word on 04 STi to 02 WRX compatibility..
