alternater

My charge light came on and ammeter dropped, I bought a new alternater and installed it. Same thing happened. I had the alternater checked and it was fine. I checked the charge of the battery and it was charged. If you remove the cable it dies. What else can I try, I'm at a loss! :banghead:

Check the fuses, all the wiring and connections from the battery to the alternator. Could be a bad ground, or poor connection somewhere. Check the voltage of the battery with engine off-should be 12V, with engine on should be 14-15V.

Thank you for reply. I had to take it to electrical shop. They found a damaged wire from the alternater to power box. They bi-passed the wire and system charging now.
