all i know is that its kinda like forced induction i guess?? and its comes in a bottle and gives big power boost for cheap...

absolutely nothing like forced induction.
NOS is either a liquid or a gas that burns super cool and creates huge power gains in your car. It is not exactly the most reliable thing. Dont think that you can ride around all day hitting the NOS button and your car live to see another day...especially on a stock vehicle.

of course, im not planning on using it everyday probably just every other weekend but im wondering how consumption of the n20 works and how often id have to refill if used only occasionally

wtf, its not like FI?, it is exactly forced induction jsut chemically. If your looking for great info check http://www.zex.com/Technical/Help/NitrousOxide.asp as for the time it last i think on the site it says using a 55 shot you get 3 min of spray which is actually a lot longer then u think if you dont use it all the time. if you use occasionally youd prolly be filling once a month or even less. If you want to know anything else talk to me on AIM my sn is dayvidgallagher

 and its called N2O, not nos.

So he calls it NOS in his first post, so what. ITR says the same thing and hes a creditable guy, plus he later calls it n2o as well some its not like hes uneducated just lazy. I think its stupid the people who hate nitrous when really it can be reliable if you use it responsibly

why would ppl hate n2o...? oh maybe because its "cheating" dont you just hate it when they say that? WOOOOO

alot of people hate it becasue they think it blows up motors. Which is bull. It isn't the N2O that blew up the motor, it is the moron who ran to big a shot for his stock internals to handle, or just used it way to much! N2O is like any mod, if done right, and not abused it can be plenty reliable, and you won't have to wory about screwing things up. I would say look into the zex kit, it is pretty fool proof. Pobably one of the safest kits out there. I would suggest a 55 shot or so, you could go bigger, but a 55 shot would be pretty safe as long as you arn't spraying constantly! good luck

If you do not know how to use it, install it, know a difference between wet and dry, maintain a car using it. the dont get a kit. Learn all you can about it first.

i was thinkin that i would want either a DRY or WET kit on my car and have been looking into it...i have a built engine with turbo right now...(not installed yet...fuckers) and well if i go up against someone in a race and money is on the line i want to make sure i win...and say if i arm the nitrous and not spray because i realized i was much faster than the other guy and i didnt even need it to win...would i be able to just turn it off or would i have to turn it off and purge out the lines?

u could leave it in the line, it would get crusty but u could do it. but why not purge looks badass anyways.

I leave mine in the lines but after a few days the pressure will go down.

If you know basic wiring and want a simple and effective system, start with the ZEX wet kit. It takes 3 wires to install and running the nitrous line from the bottle. ZEX is effective and will increase your HP reliably. NX has more wiring but the diagrams are easy to follow. I currently use the NX wet kit on my 1.6 Sohc CRX with 50 shot and ran a best of 15.5 from a 17.5 all motor with street tires and no weight cuts. I prefer the NX kits because the system allows unlimited upgrades to their kits. I can convert my same kit to a full race set up such as direct port and dual stage which can produce 100+ hp gains. Wet kits seem to be the safest way to add nitrous to any motor. Fuel and Nitrous are sprayed in one nozzle allowing balanced activation and smooth power. I've gone through 8- 15 pound bottles and the engine still runs perfect. Install instructions are easy to follow. Make sure to only follow manufacturer instrutions, don't listen to other claimed know how's. Go to company websites for info and proper usage. NX wet kits start at about $600 and ZEX for $500.

if you're planing on using Nitrous, use a dry kit about 55 jet is all you need as a rookie. Also make sure you retard the timing, upgrade the wiresdistributor cap and have new spark plugs. Also make sure you use a fuel pressure switch, so you don't get that detonation problem. The ZEX kit is the best for someone like you, i personally like the original NOS kit. Also make sure you have the right air-to-fuel mixture. Also save some money so you can upgrade your clutch, it'll be gone in about 2-3 months if you're using the Nitrous every weekend.

I'm with 1gspot so what if he type's NOS. Im sure chavez has typed and said Turbo plenty of times. When actually it is a supercharger. There are 2 types. Air intake, pulley driven and exhaust(turbo). Turbo was a name a company came up with in like the 50's or 60's for the exhaust driven supercharger. Plenty of people use the main stream names; and your the one that can't spell couch on your profile. Anyways back to the point you got your mind in the right direction. Use a WET SHOT on the prelude. Most of those h22 usdm's have silicon bored cylinder walls and a dry shot heats it up to much and will defect your piston rings. But if you get zex you end up with the smart computer so your good to go. You should still use it wisely.

oh yeah 91crx. If you are putting a turbo on and want n2o becareful. To much compression is bad. Also for every 2lbs of boost you run you raise the compression 1point; but I would say spray the n2o into your intercooler so it is a lot cooler 10 times better that way. They do make systems to do that

NOS, Nitrous Oxide Systems, Nos is a nitrous system company, just because some losers in F&F said "Nos" doesn't make it right. Sorry, pet peeve
