A6 Low Oil Pressure

I have a Audi A6 1.8TSE Avant 2000. The low oil pressure light came on just after it was due a service. The garage told me that the oil might be breaking down causing this. I had the car fully serviced, the low oil pressure warning light still comes on occasionally. Does anybody know what might be causing this?
