Rap Dictionary Excerpts

In light of the "Fo shizzil my nizzil" thread I have taken the liberty of listing some of my favorite (kiwi=favourite) phrases and words that have come from the wonderful world of rap music.


ballin'
(v) Having it all.
bling bling
(n) Jewelry, derived from the sound it makes.
wack
1) (adj) Negative: crazy or weird. Mostly this is meant
2) (v) To kill someone. "So don't step to me 'cause you boys'll get wacked" -- Ice-T (Power).
chickenhead
1) (n) Any dumb person (usually refers to women unfortunately) who clucks (speaks) alot, and walks around aimlessly or without purpose (like a chicken with its head cut off). "Give me all the chickenheads from Pasadena to Medina, let B.I.G. get in between ya" - Total featuring the B.I.G. (Can't you see [1995]).
crunk

I get it all except for the "deuces" part. remember when people would say "peace out" back in the early 90's?? and they threw up 2 fingers?? remember that? well, instead of saying "peace out"...you say "deuces"...as in, deuce....as in 2....fingers...i hope that explains it :confused:

Besides the fact that its 2 fingers, what the hell does the word "deuces" have to do with anything?

"Deuces" doesnt mean peace or good-bye.

Some things are not meant to be fully understood I guess.

Some things are not meant to be fully understood I guess. yea, its kinda like that, except you put your hand backwards..as in your palm facing you. and then do it....and deuces means absolutly nothing but that. for example, "fo shizzle"....nothing. "my nizzle"...again, nothing. these words have NO meaning at all man, they just kinda make them up as they go. thats why its so funny. trust me on this one...

Lets here more about Texas... can do. first, if you drive a 'stang, or a huge truck, your in. if you wear tight pants, your in. and if you like to say "yeeee hah" while you do pretty much anything, your in too. on the serious side though, texas is not all hick and uneducated people. take Dallas for example. one of the biggest business driven towns in America, if not the world. theres money and power everywhere you go. also, the people here are the nicest anywhere. hardly anyone flips you off while your driving, unless they're under 21. and peole are always kind and considerate.

Texas is definitly the best...

I visit it about twice a month to ground me. It brings everything into focus...and of course reinforces the fact that I hate Texas.

A-fucken-men to that! More people should be given the death penalty... on that note killing innocent people isnt on my to do list! Dubs (20's) is one that I use a lot.

actually, i think "FOB" was used to describe the people in texas, whereby, the meaning suggested Fresh Off the Boat....i dont need to explain that, but you can make the inference from there....

and how the hell did people get these meanings for ebonics?? easy. they cant talk. they just cant talk. so when they try to explain what theyre saying....such as "fo"....they say it means "four"...as in the number..."one, two, tree, fo"....they just make stuff up that makes the original word shorter...."those are 20 inch rims"....."dubs"....ya see? anyway, i hope that helped.

OK. First off dubs comes from the word double. 2. Twenty. It originally is a drug term. Sacks of weed (marajuana) were sold as $10 bags. 10, also called dime (ten) bags. If you requested a "dub", it was "double" the stardard amount - double a $10 bag. So people just came to use "dub" for the word twenty, double 10. And so there you have it. Dubs mean 20.

Secondly, As far as the Texas site. I have no problem with the death penalty. But it is not handed down fairly in the state of Texas, in my opinion. And why keep a dude on it for 10 years? A lady has killed 5 of her kids and they are just now considering the death penalty? Don't tell me there isn't a double standard.

Lastly, call me a jealous bastard but at least I know that over half the women in my state aren't overweight or obese. Then again, I guess you can't say that you have "slim" pickens.:flipa:

Mr. Sham: I'm so dissapointed in your hatin ways. Houston might be fat but atleast we aren't UGLY!
