Tim,
I replaced crank position sensor friday, and I have had no problems yet. I did not have to remove the harmonic balancer, the directions I printed from alldata said to align the new sensor with the exciter wheel on the back of the balancer. The car now idles great with no misses or hesitations, the throttle is more responsive. Maybe this will fix your problem too.
