My friend just recently bought a 1977 Z28and we have had a little arguement going on he is convonced that his 350 stock would have about 375 hp, or at a bare minimum, it would have over 300, both of which I found very hard to believe (considering a current Corvette only has 350 hp) so I did reasearch and found his car to be rated at 180 hp. Can anybody else, verify ether number, and provide some sort of proof? He is the kind of person that needs more than one really well known source, thanks

i'm just guessing it's more like 250hp, 300-350lbs torque. atleast that's what my 71 350 was rated at

In 1977 the stock 350 engine that they put in the Z's was only putin out 185hp so your right if he dosent believe you tell him to look at the build sheet on the car. there's 2 or 3 of em atleast there was in my 77 Z there should be one under the driver side seat and i think theres another one uder the back seats so if he takes the seats out then he should find one of em

im pretty sure it will atleast tell u what the engine is and then you can look up the hp on it but the biggest engine they had that year was rated at 185 hp because it was during the gas shortage so they made them more for handeling than for lots of hp.
