hey.. i recently posted a thread asking to opinions on size of wheels... i have chosen a 16 x 6.5 wheel of of tirerack.com... i have a 95 civic.. and it gives a recommended tire size too which is 205/40-16.. should i go with that tire size or do you have any suggestions. lemme know.. thanks.. and if you are interesting in which wheels i am getting they are "Sport Edition Fox 2 Sport" they are black.. because black on black is quality..

I've always ran 205/40s on my 16s, run 205/45s if you want a little bit more clearance and less fender gap. :)

Also 205/45x16" is more accurate for your speedo and odoemeter and gives a better ride.

I run autoX and i use 215/45/16 tire with a 16X7 wheel.

That is the wrong size and it will kill your gearing. If you want better gearing you would go with 205/40x16" or 215/40x16". Car accelerates much better.

And your point is?

When ordering custom sizes from Tire Rack, be careful. It's an awesome website, but if their sales rep doesn't think you picked the right size, they will hold up your order until they get around to contacting you. I ordered 195-60-14s for a new set of Honda rims, and made the appointment at my mechanic to have them put on. But they never came, and as the day got closer I contacted tire rack and they said that since the tires weren't stock size, they wanted to make sure that was what I wanted.
Guess they were trying to use telepathy before picking up the phone or sending me an email...
So whatever you order, be sure to tell them not to worry about it and just to send the damn things.
That's my 2 cents.
