Came out of church this a.m. to a dead battery...small problem...
Got a jump start...
Now I have this silly "CODE TACHO" message on the Check Control area of the dash...What's that all about?
I am thinking that it has something to do with the car lacking power (battery juice) for a time (as if I didn't know that...lol..)...but I don't know how to get rid of the message...or if I should? Is that all it is trying to tell me?
I was also thinking...TACHO as in Tachometer??? But I only went two blocks up the road...maybe like, 35 mph with no problem with the tachometer....
Man, I love my car but the Owner's Manual leaves much to be desired...don't get me wrong...like the guys, I love the gadgets..but not used to not being able to cross-reference the codes/use, etc...
Oh, and one more thing...anyone know where to pick up a BMW 5 series radio for a 1991...cheap...currently, on a student budget...the cheapest I came across on e-bay was like $100! That's just nuts for a 13 year old radio!! :nono:

FSDUAFLSDAFSDGHWER!!! <---closest I can come to cursing on this forum...
MAN! Guess what??!! Now I am locked out! My enthusiasm for my BMW is waning....this lock thing MAKES ME NUTS! If someone wanted to take my car that bad they could simply break the window...my car is like a moing coffin! Within 30 days of purchasing it, I locked someone in my car for 2 hours at the beach (of course, finally, the busted the windshield and got out)! This is a 1991 5 Series....I hope they have fixed that problem on the newer ones...
Now, btw, CODE TACHO means something to do with the battery being dead....wish I had made the leap (or someone responded) and figured out that that would mean, if the battery totally dead...the locks would not unlock! There is something in the Owner's Manuel about unlocking in emergencies...course that's not working...guess I'll make do with a very expensive yard ornament in the frontyard! :grinno:
Then, there is this whole thing about if you unlock the trunk the emergency unlocking of the passenger won't work...so you lock the trunk bag...still doesn't work...was this car created by those who wrote the L.S.A.T.??? ha ha ha....if ...then... but then it still isn't logical (doesn't work) ...UUUGHHH!!
POINTS: 1. If you see CODE TACHO on your dash...leave a door unlocked. 2. If anyone knows how to get in (I have tried to figure out through the ski bag area (through the trunk??)...let me know... :banghead:
