Big Egos?????

alright last night we went to the races and of course theres a lot of bikes down there... did anyone notice how people wit bikes think there so cool?? there crazy flirts toooo. so last night as we were driving we pulled up next to 2 bikes the one had a grl on the back and the other just by himself... so a light comes up so of course we had to stop and of course they look over.... well the one wit the grl was closer and he was like starring over and reving his bike totally flirting and the grl was just laughing... so im like what should i do and i was like i just wont look over...lol so i didnt and he revved his bike even more till we loked over the light switched to green and he took off like crazy and his buddy follows... meet them at the next light but the races were right there. anyway i always wondered can a car beat a bike??????? and does this ever happen wit u when u meet up wit these bike people?????? lol they have like big egos.... sorry if any of u guyz have bikes but i found it funny and true!!

You told me in the street racing forum along time ago you had a V6, And I doubt you will ever beat one. Not on the street anyway's.. You need serious mod's to a car to come close to one, and those mod's would most likely make the non street legal so it would have to be a "Drag" car.

LoL.. they are Very fast.. A decent sport bike will do a quarter mile in 9 to 10 seconds.. Your gonna need one HELL of a sixer to beat a bike! I tried in my Z28 once.. It was me, a crotch rocket, and a Volvo station wagon, well.. second out of three aint bad is it??

My 393Stroker Stang was running 10.8-11.2 1/4 miles and I still could not beat 90% of the stock sport bikes on the streets around here. Yea they have big ego's and are a pain in the ass. Once in a while if the really pissed me off I would try to get my rear tires infront of them and just make em choke on smoke.

lol no u know what i do... if there in front of me i kinda creep up on them and they tend to look back at me about 1000 times or until they get tired of lookin back and speed offf.. i guess they think im gonna run them ova... lol or there just rookies that shouldnt be on bikes anyway!!

But on a serious note I think it all depends on the bike. I have seen cars beat bikes on the street, but the bike was never anything over like a 400 (I think 400s or something, I know jack shit about bikes) and it was still a very close race with a modded car. Because of their weight and gearing and provided they have a competent driver, streetbikes are very fast. I realize this is just about the same thing the guys above said but its just my :2cents: .

I would never race in the contour I have now, Mainly because it's only a base model 4cylinder and run 17's. However, my 99 Contour SVT I use to own. It was pretty much stock, Just a K&N Air filter, That ran 15.1- and my best was 14.9.

The price really depends on the bike you want to get but I can tell you a few things:

1) As with anything, but moreso with bikes IMO, they are very dangerous if you dont know what you are doing.

2) They dont hold their value for anything.. I believe for sport bikes they lose something like 30-40% of their value as soon as you drive them off the lot

3) You can get a decent mildly used sportsbike for in the 8-12k dollar range, depending on what you want. These prices are for my area but I dont expect it would fluctuate much more or less than that.

I dont see why bike owners think they are so good, big deal they can beat a car. Look at how much they weigh, theres not even any point in comparing them. Id say probably 50% of sport bike owners are ass hats and shouldnt have their licenses. All the crap they do, thats cool or whatever, its just asking the cops to come and scrape them off the road.

Bikes are alot of coin too, I think a new CBR 600 is like 12k canadian brand new. If you bought it you would be paying probably half that a year in motorcycle insurance unless your a mature experienced rider. Theres also a bunch more bikes bigger and faster than the 600 and they are even more up there.

lol, yeah i hate crotch rockets, mostly for the way they sound, but ill admit, i have looked into buying a Buell, putting a nallin racing full treatment to it, have a 350-370lbs bike running 150hp at the rear tire. and handle the twisties too. but i think that my AWD cav project will come before that. buell will have to come after a V-Rod anyway, so sez my girl ;) lol.

but i do agree with sk8er, the power to weight ratio on a sport bike just makes it all but untouchable to a car, unless its one helluva car.

civichbsi91, thats why im lookin at a buell, its got a harley engine, but a sportbike chassis, stock they arent the fastest, but by far are the best handling bikes out there. for highway driving maybe not the best choice, but in the mountains, oh man, buell all the way. large flat torque curve, and awesome design features. oh man i want one of those bikes. the new firebolt XB12R *drools*

the viper has something like 900hp and it barely beat a stock hybusa. the midly built bike smoked the viper. the best video i have seen is a group of hybusa in the states somewhere. 2 with 490whp on a bike. they are shown doing 290+km/hr on their back wheel. one point you can see the guys speedo climbing to 292kms and his buddy flys by him doing a catwalk like he is standing still. fucking insane.

My friend has a 636 Kawasaki Ninja and he says it only runs 11 something 1/4 miles, granted there are bigger bikes, byt I'd say a good portion of bikes are simple 600's, so there are cars that can beatthem... in fact, at our street racing spot, there are a couple of 5.0 Mustangs that even the bikes were afraid to race.
