Okay,
I've been trying to do some research into this, but i know ass nothing about cars. Lets say, i have a e36 325is
and i want to drop this nice e36 m3 engine in it. I know that there will be alot of work done to upgrading this beautiful machine, however i don't even know where to start.
The only thing im pretty certain of, is aquiring a new tranny for the car. I don't think my gearbox will be able to handle the power of the M.
If anyone has any insight, i would be very grateful of it.
Thanks!

From what I've read the 328 manual has the same ZF tranny as an m3. I don't know about the 325 though.

You'll as need the ECU from the M3 motor and wiring harness

Will there be anything within the engine bay that will need to be shifted around/replaced?
