My door is sagging and hitting the pin in the jam. I have moved the door up when open and noted that the top hinge to door has movement. The other side does not. The movement is not much 1/8 inch. Can I have it welded with out removing the door? Is this normal to have the small movement i.e. week metal in the door frame skin? I need some body shop person to help me on this one. Thanks Dave

Dave, I would check the pin and bushing in the hinge. Also check that the bolts are tight on both hinges (upper and lower). If that is all fine, you might be able to adjust the striker if the alighnment is ok on the door. Hope this helps. If not, thats why im an idiot. He he.

i replaced my door pin for the same problem. it helped a little . my bushing in the door pin had worn out which caused the sag . total cost 14$ only because i crushed one of the new bushings installing the new pin so i had to buy another complete pin/bushing set.

No, I checked the pins and bushing they are tight. How every my door to top hinge has movment and I need to know if it can be spot welded with out taking the door off. I would also like to know if there is a metal plate inside the door skin or is it just the door skin that the hinges are welded to. Thanks for any help. Dave

Dave,
What about the bolts? Are they tight? If so, I believe there is a plate on the inside of the door that the bolts go to. Your best bet would be to go to a body shop and ask their opinion.

Dan, Thanks for the reply!! My door hinges are spot welded to the door. I wished they were bolted life would be easier. Dave
