I just had my tranny man put in a new transmission because of the same problems. He went to take it on a test drive and it did the same. He then had someone come and check out the computer and it was damaged - So he replaced the computer and it has been driving wonderful ever since!
The computer was only about $300.00

if your speedo isn't working, your problem is a bad output speed sensor; very common thing to fail on Chrysler front wheel drive transmissions.
