Hey People! Hello--Truck has 52k, 4.8/5Spd idles fine feels like I'm towing a waterskier at highway speed, if I punch it it is fine(anything above 2500rpm) changed the fuel and air filter, added fuel additive things seemed better, now it's worse, surging and doesn't like to start once it's warm and I leave it off for 15 minutes. In the morning or after work(been sitting 8 hrs) it starts fine. Any Ideas previous experience?A friend told me it might be the fuel pump....at 52K?(Told me to carry a hammer in case I get stuck beat the tank while starting!!I asked him if he had any growth hormone so I can grow longer arms can't reach the tank) Where is the fuel pressure regulator located(like to check it)? I'll be trying to solve the problem Changing the plugs/wires/pcv tomorrow, the book says this isn't required until 100k. then again the book said nothing about needing new trans at 1200 miles and again at 5k or the exploding firestone tire that folded the lower quarter on my bed, I'm old(you will be too someday) and grumpy(darn truck, what is all that stuff under the hood?)!, I understand my 71 olds....Thanks

I would look at the fuel pressure regulator.
pull the vacum line off and see if there is evidence of gas..if so the regulator is leaking

Thank You Mr Merlin.....Where is the regulator located.....The truck runs well again After changing out the plugs (used the bosh 2's). Can't imagine anyone getting 100k out of the plugs or that they were the only issue needing attention. Pulled the truck into a dark garage at night looking for any arcing or stray voltage from the wires...they seem to be fine. Love this site, lots to learn gonna level out the truck with the ford parts. Thanks again
