tamiya has prolly the most detail in their cars... if you want SUPER detailed, go with the Tamiya Enzo, or one of the F1 cars... great fun to build, judging by what people have posted...

Can't do anything but agree with the others. Tamiya has excellent detail and good parts fit. If you want some thing more challenging try some of Fujimi's enthusiast models, tons of parts but not that easy to assemble. Accurate Miniatures has two awesome cars to, even if they aren't that easy to find today. It's the Corvette Grand Sport and the McLaren M8B, both with almost overwhelming detail and a lot of parts to. They also lacks the Tamiya finish and easiness to build but are worth every penny.
BTW, if you see that you forgot something in you're thread, just click Edit/Delete and make the changes you like instead of making a new "answer" to you own post.

Cheers!

The big T. More detail than Revell, and generally better quality (i.e. fit, decals, instructions) than Revell as well. However, also more $$$...

Actually, it varies kit to kit, but on a whole I'm willing to say that you'll find more detail in a Revell kit than you will in a Tamiya kit on average.

Yes, Tamiya releases beauties like the Enzo, and their GTP car kits, and their R32 GTR Skyline, but then they turn around and do bare minimum kits like their S13 Silvia, Subaru Impreza WRX STI, and Nissan 350Z. Revell rarely goes to the length of including a full carbon fiber monocoque with accurate functional door hinges in their kits, but it wasn't until I stepped away from building Revell kits and started building Tamiyas that I learned the term "curbside".

And, let's be realistic. It's a big disappointment to pay $30 for a Tamiya Nissan 350Z and then find out that the wheels are on metal axles that sit in holes in the chassis plate that has all of the suspension molded in, and then notice that the Revell snap kits at the Walmart have the exact same thing while only costing $7.45.

straight up tamiya win the detail in f1 kits an 1/24 scale!!!

It has to be Fujimi with their enthusiast kits. Lots of detials, lots of parts. Only thing is the terrible fitting of those parts and the overall model.

So if you want detail, fitting an with all that fun in building it has to be Tamiya.

I kinda agree that Tamiya has better detail.......in bodies and interior. But like said before, most don't even come with an engine or drivetrain. If the box doesn't have an engine pic, I won't buy it. Revell has LOTS mor pieces and details than most Tamiya kits, but they take a lot more fitting and sanding to get the fit and finish a builder is looking for.

Fujimi site is here:
http://www6.shizuokanet.ne.jp/fujimi/html/menu.html

But you won't find much info there...

If you want to know a little more about a kit, I suggest you try HLJ one, it has box pic, sometimes a built model pic, and a brief description. (url= http://www.hlj.com/ )
Even better is 1999.co.jp: you can have the full box content pics and assembly guide! (url= http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/plamo/index_e.asp?Bno=&Typ1_c=102 )
