well first its pretty funny that you arnt sure if its the speedometer. Does it have numbers from 10 to about 140-150? Or does it have 1 through 8 on it? that would be the tach.
If your speed-o isnt working then it might be the wheel speed sensor that tells the ECU how fast the car is going. Then the ECU sends a signal to the speed-o which moves up and down. Im not to good with the dash electrical stuff like that so wait till someone else responds.

NOW THATS FUNNY, im new to 300 's not to cars i mean come on guy, you might want to read the question again,,,,ANYWAY, i just need to know where the speedsensor is located (IE) tranny (where), or if their might be a comman problem with z's and speed-o ,,, odometer doesnt work either so i am assuming that thats it in the sensor itself not the in the dash

The sensor would be my guess cuz the odo doesn't work either. You said in your post that you didn't know if it was the speedSENSOR...he thought you said speedODOMETER...say oops, anti. :p

could you tell me where the sensor is located,, it might just be a loose connection or somthing ,, like i said dont know these cars at all ,, i do know they guy i got it from just had the tranny rebuilt maybe they just didnt connect it right ,, hell i dunno, i got under the car yesterday there is a lil piece on the trans with 6 or so wires, and another with 2 wires i would think it wouldnt need anymore than 2 wires for a speedsensor,, but this is an auto ,, so i am not sure , the only thing is the pieces i am talkign about look like they are just set in place with rtv or some kind of sealant
