surges of power upon acceleration

1997 S-10 4.3 5spd. When accelerating the truck surges and slows and surges again. What could this be?

Start witht he little things first.
How about the fuel filter?

No dice with the fuel filter... plugs, wires,?

had same problem ,change wires and plugs still had problem ,change oxygen sensor problem went away,also could be clog fuel injector.

have 98 2wd 2.2 same prom i replace primary o2 sensor no luck

One easy check would be to take one of you gas supply lines and see if your pump is pumping a steady stream or if it's starting to sputter a little. Once you rule out that your getting enough gas to your injectors it narrows things down a little.

Just do what i did when i had that problem. i pulled my motor out and am dropping a 350 4 bolt mane in it. no computers or none of that stuff.

disconnect the catylic coverter see if that helps and check the fluid level in the trans
