1997 4.3 vort. manual trans- 130,000miles, All gears working fine but, noise is present when clutch is not engaged or driving. I believe its the throwout bearing. Need new clutch package...factory or would another supplier be better?

hey, I had the same problem and it turned out it wasnt the bearing. I had no fluid in the trans. check that first and if that dosent stop it, it may be the throwout bearing.. but do it fast cause my trans is now screwed up permanantly because i was drivn for so long thinkin it was the throwout bearing

Also... Check your pilot bushing! I have had may of them go out. Lube it well if you do a clutch. If it were a throwout bearing, it would make noise when the clutch was engaged. the input shaft on the tranny goes out VERY quickly if the pilot is left go.
Also, shop around for the best price on a NEW kit. Don't go with a reman disk:)
