New to this forum, I have read many post's and found them quite informative.
I have a 94 Escort Wagon 1.9 automatic. It was used and abused when I got it. My problem is that someone hot wired the Radiator fan and I have replaced the relay but it wont run without the hot wire. The Hanes book I have says that the A/C and the coolant fan controller module is operated by the computer, the coolant tempture switch, and the brake light switch. the controller module provides the out put signal to the A/C cluch and the engine cooling fan.
My question is, where is the controll module located?
My symtoms, Other than the fan being hot wired and running as soon the key is turned on. Is when I turn on the A/C or the defroster the RPM drops way down and with the car in drive there is NO exceleration.
As soon as the A/C or defroster is turned off the car runs fine.
Can anyone help me find the controller module? And do you think this is one of my many problems?
Thnaks in advance, Dennis :screwy: :screwy:

Might want to check the A/C compressor, It happen on my car, It was seizing up and the car wouldn't move if I steped on it a little too much.
The coolant control module should be located next to the thermostat if I'm not mistaken.

for the a/c related idle, also check your idle air control, its on top of your throttle body.

Got the problem fixed. Found the fan switches and replaced the low speed switch. As for the Idel problem and lack of power that was a bad cranck pulley.
If you get a chance look at Lawton Kid's post it was the answer to my problems.
Thanks for your replies and help!
