Just installed an amp and sub in 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Tapped into power by factory amp. Just before attaching wires to amp, blew factory amp fuse in fuse pannel. Replaced fuse, but then the factory head unit acted like the car was shut off not running in aux(display blank, press in on vol knob for time). Checked all the fuses(three times), none bad. Then charged the battery, Stereo works again and the subs are on too. PROBLEM: Went to start the Jeep, it wont turn over. If i lay into the gas it will turn over but will stall as soon as I let off the gas. Un-hooked the Amp, Checked fuse boxes inside and under the hood. all fuses are good, relays? dont know how to check them. New to forum, but in a spot, would appreciate whatever help you can offer.

Get car started first then go to fixing your audio problems. Check all the fuses in vechicle. Now I am not a Jeep guy but there are a few things iwould check. First is the fuses..next does it have a shut down for the fuel pump? If so check that. Next check where you made all your connections. Did you accidentally cut a wire?

I agree with sickvette ... an awesome stereo is pretty much worthless if the car doesn't run
