I'm about to start lookin for a nice ex coupe of 92-95 and needed some questions asked.

1. Do all ex's have rear disk brakes and if so, what years have them?

2. I've noticed tweeters in the door panels of some and other don't have them. Was this a option?

3. Is the ex tranny the same as the si tranny or is their a difference and what?

4. How high does 5th gear usually rev up too going 65 mph on interstate?

5. what's the best year of the 5th gen coupe I should look for?

Just needed some help and figured I'd ask you guys. Any help would be appreciated!

Not all 92-95 (5th gen) civic ex's have disks and ABS.

Basically, with 5th gen coupes and sedans...if it has 4 wheel Disks it has ABS...if it has ABS it has 4 wheel disks. If you want disks on your EX, you'll need one that came OEM with ABS. Basically, ABS was an option, and it also added 4 wheel disks to the packadge (for hatchs, only the Si had disks. 92-93 Si hatchs didn't have ABS but still had disks in the rear, but 94-95 had ABS and disks).

I think the 5th gen EX coupe/sedan and Si hatch have the same tranny, since they motor and ecu is basically the same.

That being said, I am willing to bet the speaker thing was an option as well.

I always think I know the years and gens but then I always see weird cars! I see cars with power locks and no power windows, all power but no clock, Its just weird. All power but NO arm rest console!?!? I was at a junk yard yesterday and pulled out the whole cup holder/console assembly and noticed the car just had the ebrake there and a lil turd of a cigg ashtray in the back. No arm rest! Sorry I didnt know different civics didnt come with them. Next to the civic was an integra. didnt have it either! Look the same as the civic center thingy.

Yeah, that was either an CX or DX center concle most likely. CX and DX civics didn't have the arm rest, their's where just like you described. The LX came with the armrest, and so did the ex (and Si). I've thought about goig down to the honda junk yard here and buying an LX or EX one, they're cheap; but then I think about it, and I just don't think it's worth the money to me right now...so I stick with mine...it has a cup holder, it works, lol.

I must have one of those weird cars... I am pretty sure my car had like every available option except the arm rest and ABS/rear disc. (its an EX)

Hmm, well...I've grown to like the look of no armrest, lol.
