a friend of mine just bought a 98 prelude vtec , it already had cai, exhaust , 18" rims and some cams with cam gears ... however he still is unsure about the brand of cams and gears used :screwy: ... anyways he told me about this and i was thinking that this car should get up quite nicely , but it doesnt ... it rides pretty well , but no where near as good as i thought it would with those mods...you can barely hear a change in engine note as the vtec engauges ... what im getting at here is , should he get a vtec controll and have these things tuned , or does he need a header , or what do you guys think is causing this problem ?? ...

its probably the cams.

have him bring it to a shop to get tuned.

how would they tune em if they dont know what the specs are on them ?? and wouldnt you need valves and springs with the new cams ?? i know i did ...also , what is the normal vtec crossover point on vtec ludes ??

what if the cam gear slipped and your cams are retarded fully. just make sure they are at stock timing because stock cams at stock timing should make less power then aftermarket cams at stock timing
