Stock engine upgrade option on 94 Z28?

Hey everyone. I just bought a 94' Camaro Z28 yesterday, and picked it up today, and the guy who sold it to me said he was talkin to person who bought the car...and he said that he didn't know the Camaro I bought had an engine option upgrade when the original owner bought it brand new. He said there were 2 options on the engine, and the person opted for the better one that cost more money.

My question is, is he 1) BSing me to make me feel better about the car...2) he doesn't know what the hell he's talking about...or 3) there really is this option.

I asked my friend who's a car nut...he has a Z28 and he seemed to think there was a gear ratio upgrade from 270+ to 330+...and I have the 330+.

Any help would be appreciated in the manner.

wow...LOL. there was no extra engine options in 94. It was either a 3.4l V6, or an LT1 5.7l V8. the guy is BS'ing you. there are tons of people that always claim they 'ordered' the car with some option that was really unavailable. There was a guy here in town a month or so ago talking about a 427 that was an option in 95, and that only like 100 were made (probably thinking about the LT4 5.7l in 97).

Anyway, to comment on the gear question... A gear change will not change the HP at the crank (as stated form 270-330). it will very slightly alter RWHP numbers, but not much. The stock Auto cars in 94 I believe had the 2.73 gears, but with the 'performance axle' option I think they gor 3.23's. I am not 100% on this though.

Yea I had a feeling. Just wondering though, but thanks for the input. Honestly I think the guy didn't know a whole lot about cars...but he may have been BSin me. No biggie, either way I was buying the car.
