driver power window not working

I am not sure whether I have a working powerwindow motor, or not.

Here is what I did to test it:

I applied 12 v to the motor, by applying a ground wire and a positive battery terminal wire (which I checked with my meter for 12 volt) to the two pins coming out of the motor. Nothing happened.

What am I supposed to expect?

I mean if the motor was good, is the motor supposed run? And if so, is it supposed to bring UP or DOWN the window?

Also, I put my ohmmeter to the two pins coming out of the motor. And there is a good continuity. Does that mean the motor is good?

thank you for help!

If you apply power on term and ground on another that s means you have bad motor

Even if the motor was working and good, would it move the window up or down, when I apply the 12 volt to the motor terminals?

How would the motor know when to move up the window, and when to move down the window?

thanks

Mine did the same thing. I could hear a clicking when pressing down side of switch. That told me that it was in my switch. I took it apart and cleaned the contacts and I also changed the little clear rockers that works the up and down contacts. I put the right rocker in left rocker switch and viceversa and saved myself 80.00. Been working ever since. :smokin:
