Hello folks, im new here. Was browsing and found this very informative forum. Well here is my problem. I am installing a new radio, but couldnt get an adapter (I am military and live in Italy) so me and some friends started to splice the wires. I found a few diagrams online, but they are either in correct (it sais to use yellow for power, although there is no yellow save for a speaker connection) or something is wrong with my new stereo. Has anyone had to splice wires in the 01 mali? If so, what worked out for you, and any tips would be really helpful. Thanks.

do NOT splice the wires in an 01 malibu, you need to buy the wiring harness...half of the cars computer is run through your radio and the wiring harness(unfortunately $80) comes with a small box which takes the place of the old radios functions and allows for the aftermarket to be put in safely
