97 Voyager... replace engine?

hi, I just bought a 97 grand voyager SE (3.0 Litre V6) with a broken timing belt. I believe this engine is an interference engine, which means the valves are probably damaged, and both heads are going to have to come off etc... so for around the same price that it would cost me to have the damage repaired, I could get a used engine installed from a junkyard with a 60 day guarantee. my van has 152k miles on it.

can anyone please offer me some advice as to what I should do?

There is a lot involved with changing an engine but given the problems you have and the miles on the current engine I believe your best recourse would be to buy another engine and replace this one. You will probably have the same amount of labor replacing the engine as you would to tear down and rebuild the current one and if you get it torn down and find major problems you are going to have to replace it anyway.
