I have a '93 Pontiac Grand Am with the 3.3 litre V6. It started fine until a few weeks ago. It died and would not start back for a while. Then it started fine and ran fine. The car will turn over fine now but will not start at all. Not even try to. I have determined that there is no spark. This car has the three coil packs so i know it couldnt be that. Not much chance all three would go out at the same time. I am stumped. Any ideas???

No spark is usually 1 of 3 things. The first and most probable is the ignition module. Most places have free testing of this. If your not getting injector pulses (check with a noid light) and no spark, its most likely the crankshaft sensor. When it gets pulses, it tells the computer to fire the injectors and the ignition coils. Theer is a small chance its your computer, but I would suspect that as a last resort.

Thanks, I checked out the ignition modules at a parts store, they were okay. I tried to start it so much that I ran the batter down some. So i put on a set of jumpers, it started. I shut it off and took off the jumpers and it wouldnt start again. I went out and got a new battery and it has started fine ever since. Really stumps me???
