Hey guys. I just got the recall notice in the mail today for my 97 olds aurora (for the fuel rail). I was wondering if anyone has actually had the recall done to their car yet and if there was any notice with anything. I dont guess there is suppose to be anything noticable, but i was just wondering.

i had mine done. i have no problem with a free parteven though the place kept the car for an extra day and took around an hour to find my keys. my car seemed a little faster afterwards, but that's prolly because i had not driven it in a while.

No differance except that I feel better. If the original rail isn't leaking, there shouldn't be any. Took about 1 1/2 hours.

I had mine done the other day and now mine seems to start up faster. I was about to change the fuel pump preasure regulator because other threads had suggested it but While at the shop for the recall I asked the parts guy how much a new FPPR would be and he asked if I had the new stainless fuel rails. I told him that they were switching them as we spoke. He checked the Fich and found that the stainless rails needed a different FPPR so I have to assume that they changed that also. There is another thread about this and the other fellow doubts that they changed it and I can't verify it beacuse my wife is out of town with the car. Anyway, It sure seems to start faster that it did before the recall was done.

The same day that my "check engine" light began flashing, I received the recall notice. The dealer replaced the rail, and I replaced the plugs, wires and all 4 coil packs. I'm not sure which part of that had the most impact, but my '96 is running like a dream!
