Well not to long ago i had to replace a fuse... and low and behold the guy who had the car before me wired the boost gauge light by pushing a fuse over a wire to make the conection... it fell out so i didnt see which one exactly. Well I thought that I need to wire it up properly but didnt have the time at that point and just decided that if it worked untill now it still should work... just need to find the right fuse... well I looked and found a fuse in the sunroof slot (I HAVE NO SUNROOF) so i thought "hey mabey they put the fuse and relay in for the sunroof by accedent at the factory. So i thought that would be sufficent... and not carring to much about the boost gauge cuz it was a cheap mech. one I didnt make sure that the wire didnt jump the gap and bypass the fuse... well the day before yesterday I was at a drive through and smoke started to come out of the place where the headlight knob goes through the trim (and the other two knobs as well) and my reaction was to turn off the car and push it out of the way... well the first thing i did was rip out the wire for the boost gauge and drive back to work. Come to find out that fuse was used for the fog lamps (whice were not on the car from the factory but factory fogs were installed later) but instead of using the fog light fuse place (since it was in the back and hard to get too) they used the sunroof one. Well I pulled out the switch and bam... there was a black hole where a connection was... tried to fix it but its way to big of a gap to saudler up. So my question is where to get a used one (and if the cold saulder will hold up for long enough) or go and by a new one which ive seen for a pocket bashing $250. Well sorry for writing a novel about this one but hey... ive heard these switchs dont last.
