I am not sure about the chev, they usually make pretty quick trucks. I do think that ram is faster than the f150. If you are looking at new, the hemi is pretty fast. You can get a new regular cab for like $16k now.

Heres some info....

Ram 1500 5.9 v8
0-60 8.1 / 245 hp / 335 ft/lbs / 6100 lbs towing

Ford F150 5.4 v8
0-60 8.8 / 260 hp / 350 ft/lbs / 7500 lbs towing

Chevrolet 1500 5.3 v8
0-60 7.8 / 285 hp / 325 ft/lbs / 8000 lbs towing

info from Truck Trend Magazine.

What about the new Hemi? How does that stack up with Chevy's 5.3L?

From what I have hear, the new hemi sucks. It doesn't have near the amount of power that Dodge claims it to have. I think the Dodge 5.9 360 has more power. If you want a hemi, you need to get one of the old big block hemis that came in the muscle cars and not this small block 5.7.

The 360 does have more power. If I somehow ended up with a hemi, I'd rip those emblems off the front fenders. If that motor is a hemi, then I have a hemi in my lawn tractor, too.

Why does how quick a truck goes matter to this guy?

What about rear gear ratios on the truck trend specs?

we just have to get used to the fact that we're back in an era when anybody can go buy a "hemi". But it's not the same, true.

What happened to the V10?.....

you guys are a bunch or morons....listen the hemi puts out 345hp and 375 ft/lbs and the 5.9 magnum puts out 245hp and 235 ft/lbs.....hmmm.....lets think...or maybe dodge, truck trend (in which I got the info) are on crack and dont know what there talking about.....whatever....anyway....by torque and horse power the specs show that the 5.7 litre dominates the other stats....but still i think if you are going to buy a new truck....it not just the engine output that matters....well....not to me....DODGE ROCKS!!!

They're smoking something... or trying to convince themselves they don't want the Hemi. I've owned a '96 with the 360 and I now own the quad cab 1500 with the 5.7. The hemi is stronger and the truck is quicker by far. No doubt about it.
