Traditional Ferrari Red?

Are there any other options for the "classic" ferrari red other than tamiya's italian red? I dont want that orane/red that are on the modern ferraris but more like that traditional red from the 1950's models. Anyone know if there is a good Duplicolor paint for this?

Tamiya's Italian red is a traditional red, it's not like you see on the F1 cars.

mm... IMO, tamiya's italian red is ok. not too orangey. i have one on my s2000, got couple layers of it and the red is really stands out. i wasnt really good at spraying that time, but yea... it turns out ok.
but its up to you. you can try to go to the car dealer and ask about the red. but becareful, there are so many reds for one brand. or... you can go to paint shop and ask a small can of the ferarri's red... and use it with your air brush (if u use them).

Testor's has Guards Red and I believe Model Master's have an Italian Red. Both are in the enamel range.

Personally, Tamiya's TS-08 looks right to me...

Tamiya Italian red will not look good over gray primer, it needs to be sprayed over white.

It is a semi transparent paint.

Gunze has a Mr Color paint called "C-158 Super Italian Red". Maybe this is what u wanted.

Try Krylon Banner Red over white or pink basecoat. Ferrari does use a pink undercoat.

He's right, Italian Red is definitely a more modern strain of ferrari Red, some of the older cars were verging on Burgundy but I'm afraid i can't help you with this one.

Best advice is to go down an automotive shop and pick the best colour by looking on the cap of the spray cans.
