Hey guys, Im having a hard time find the specs on the 4g63t cyclone engine. If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated

whats the diffrence between the cyclone egine and the engine in my 95gst

It is the same thing just a different intake manifold and ecu.

ok and what are the specs and advantages of the jdm one? Since lots of ppl look for that over the regular 4g63t

The people who know what they are doing aren't looking for JDM engines. The advantage is the intake manifold and maybe ECU, but i'd say it's hardly worth getting a JDM for. I'm sure there are specs somewhere, it has a little more power like you could expect.

But arent they better flowing? Which means better reponse when you put in more mods?

Uh, the intake manifold flows more, yes. It's the same as getting a performance manifold (better than the cyclone anyway) or porting a 1g manifold (2g manifolds are smaller). I'm not saying it won't help, but it is too costly for the gain.

Well I can get them for fairly cheap....I just wanted some specs on them

dude just get the regular 4g63t and port a 1g intake or get a aftermarket one and save some money.

I can probably get the jdm engine for the same price as the regular 4g63t with the intake manifold....I just need some specs

What specs?

of the engine....

Wagon said he didnt have any but you could find them somewhere.

what specs do you need? engines have LOTS of specs. like joe said the cyclone 4g63t is almost the same as the eclipse 4g63t. the only differences are the intake mani and the ecu. also since its jdm it probably has less emissions crap

I still don't get it.. what engine specs? 220hp. The intake manifold is different.

Sorry, should have precised, yes HP and torque specs....

actually, the JDM cyclone manifold LOOKS cooler, but the performance gains in reality are NOT worth the money you would spend on it. Leave it. Get your existing one ported. shum.

Is anyone going to answer the original question? The inputs on not getting the JDM engine were heard, like I've said before, I can get the JDM 4g63t probably for the same price as the regular 4g63t....I just need some specs, that is all

You keep going on like a broken record. There is no information that you need to know to choose a US engine over a JDM. Recap:
1. The only difference is the intake manifold
2. The cyclone manifold has more low end torque but flows LESS air than a 2g on the top end.
3. The 'stats' are that the JDM has 220hp. It's because of less emissions regulations and tuning. Probably in the ECU, NOT the manifold.
1g is better, aftermarket is better. I hear most of the cyclone manifolds aren't even installed right, since they are a dual runner system.
There is no "Cyclone Motor" The long blocks from Japan are the same year for year as the US motors. They will usually have the Cyclone intake manifolds on them. This is just a dual runner (similar to Toyota's TVIS system) intake manifold that gave a little better bottom end power IF you have all the electronics to properly actuate the butterfly valves. Also there are clearance issues between the Cyclone manifold and the larger US A/C compressor. Yes you can use it, but not really worth the hassle. Some manifolds will say "Cyclone" on them but not have the dual runner butterfly system. The timing belt upper covers sometimes can be slightly damaged from shipping, also the igniter or coil pack may be damaged. This usually happens in the shipping container on the boat ride from Japan.
