I bought the Amt FNF eclipse yesterday, despite all that bull $hit ive heard about it.
WHen i bought it i bought some Black N Blue pearl paint by Boyds to put on it, not knowing that i would be going to walmart later that day, when i did go to walmart i found some Krylon paint, thats Cherry Red, i decided id try to paint the eclipse that color. When i painted it, the paint was way too flat, so when it dried i put on that Black N BLue pearl, and now its just ugly as the pics show
THe only thing that i see wrong with this model is the engine, so in short im gonna make it a True turbocharged Eclipse and make the engine look like one that would have originally been N/A but had a turbo kit bought for it
ANd im shaving the doors, and filling in the place where the license plate would be
heres the pics

http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/47082HPIM1089.JPG
pics are a bit blurry, sorry im not gonna take an hour to try to get the light rite for taking a few pics of a car thats all blistered up and an engine that isnt any thing special right now
Comments and suggestions please :smokin:

should have sanded and primed before you applied the midnigh blue, and if that is a metallic paint appluy silver underneith to bring out the metalic flake. l

i sanded it, i think the sand papers just a bit too gritty, so im gonna have to wait till i have more money to go get some more sand paper
never heard of putting a coat of silver on a car before putting on a paint with a pearl, ill be investigating this even further
thanks

Looks good. Although, the kits engine is trash. It's not like the 4g63... but you're doing a good job to represent the neon turbo motor.
Good luck...btw, all you needed was some clear on the krylon and it would've looked great.

just kidding i think the motor will be just fine, even if it resembles the car's motor that was sent to hell and Satan himself said it should never be fixed up

Boyds/ModelMasters/Testors is so sad, such nice colors, but such terrible paint...
p.s. 86_sr5 is right, all the krylon needed was some clearcoat, polish, and love...

Ahhhhh why do people polish model cars? honestly, i love my cars as much as the next guy, but shit happens, you can spend weeks building a model car, and a cats sweep of the paw can ruin ALL your hard work, so whys the use going to polishing and waxing???
I do clear coat here and there, only if i want some thing more shinnier
done preaching
about the mods, do u mean other mods to the engine, or the car in general?
i have made my own straw exhausts, and will use one of those on the car, besides that i dont plan on any thing else except for an inter cooler, and of course that turbo done properly
i did some interior painting, and the cars coming to gether now that i can see what the interior will look like, ill take pics tomorow,
after that all i will need to do is get this body going together, but the putty must dry

Cool. Good to see your stil going to use black n blue pearl. That's one of my favorite boyds colors. Almost like a purple if I'm correct.
Supra, the car is coming along well. I hope it comes out as shiney as your sleek sleeper-styled R34. Good luck.

Sorry to go off topic, but the Eclipse motor isn't the same as a Neon. All they share is the block, and thats it. If you'll notice, on an Eclipse the Exhaust is at the front, intake at the back, visa-versa for a Neon. NOT the same. D4Re != 4G63 OR 420A.
Good luck with the model though man, hope it turns out good.
