i am currently in the market for a new car and i was considering a 95 VR-6 jetta because i know they are quick. now i love modifying cars and making em fast. i am new to the volkswagon world and i was wondering what can be done in terms of I/H/E or turbo or head or engine work and what kind of results can be expected thanks in advance.

I just found headers for the VR6...
I would recommend the 1.8T... only because it has the same power as the VR6. but if your baught the VR6, and added headers, and a turbo... you'd have some power. you can also add an intercooler... oh yeah the VR6 is loaded with possible goodies.

If you have deep pockets you can do very well with the vr6. i have a 95 vr6 and so far have only put on an intake and chip and it eats up rice rockets for lunch... future plans are 3.0L conversion(83mm pistons) and headers, new cam shaft, VF Engineering supercharger, Neuspeed catback, 11'' slotted front rotors with willwood calipers and 9'' slotted rears, sports clutch, but that's like 6-8k away. so if you can afford it you can do alot, not very many options but if you're creative you'll get by very well and you should be able to kill a pony svt with some ease and style and take on a 5 series or two... and if you tune and balance it right... *grggggglllee*

Headers for the VR6 is almost a waste of money. People who've bought them have had almost no gains from them. If you do want to get some there's Bosal,Genie,Supersprint, and OBX.
Head work does wonders for the VR6 I still have to do that to my Jetta (when I get the money). Cold Air Intake, Chip, and Exhaust are good. Cams are good too if going FI in the future you might want to stay stock or get dsr 256 cams b/c they work well with Super Charging. Turbo cams are Schrick 248's they work well with Turbo VR6's.
Other stuff motor mounts, high flo cat, pullies,(however if going super charge don't get) fly wheel, and clutch. Any other questions just respond to this thread and I will answer.

no headers...sounds good to me, less to spend. wait... if i'm goin supercharger don't get the pullies...? or don't get the clutch...? cause...i'd probably kill the clutch and tranny if i dont' beef em up when i put in the SC. i'm a tad confused, thanx about the other recomendations though
