I'm currently waiting for my evo to be delivered however i currently drive an Eclipse GS-T(exact same engine but mirror imaged) and the intake/BOV system is basically the same. In my eclipse i replaced the BOV with a GReddy Type-S BOV, the only reason to replace it is if you intend to run higher boost because the factory valve will leak, in order to replace it you either need an upper intercooler pipe that has a flange specifically designed for the valve u want or get an adaptor kit. Make sure that you have the BOV dump back into the intake pipe because mitsubishi 4g63 need that burst of air to function normally if you vent into the atmosphere the car will stall itself. Installation is a simple swap in procedure most valves come with instructions althought its pretty hard to mess up it shouldnt take more than an hour and a half to do.

BTW if you are more interested in the sound that it makes, the stock air box quiets the sounds significantly so replace the box with an open filter element(K&N or something) Extreme Technologies also has a great kit with an adaptor for the MAS www.extrememotorsports.com

yeah there is one .. its a small plastic one with a soft spring. u can hear it once that turbo gets spooling over 4000 rpm. yea i think my friend is gonna go with the type-s bov or one by some company called like APS ... some guy at a rice shop by us said thats what they have for the evo.

You should get the HKS SS BOV, or a Blitz BOV. Then you can hear the noise. If you get an air filter you can probably hear the turbo better also. Call the people at RPMmotoring.com and they should have some.

There both running around in the $270s. I dont know exactly how much because the BOVs dont say they are exactly for the Evo, but I know if you call them they can tell you the exact price for the Evo BOV. They have good prices compared to other places, and they are fans of the Evos, so they can help you out.

What up guys. I have a 2003 Evo8 and I have put a Worx tuning BOV on it. The Evo8 comes with a recirulation valve from the factory so there is little or no blow off sound. I have talked with some other guys that also have evo's around here and we all agree that the car runs better with the stock recirc. valve. But if you do get a BOV u will have to run it almost all the way closed, because the car doesn't like very much atmospheric blow off. But if you want a BOV I would recommend the one from Worx Tuning, it is a very clean unit and it is fully adjustable which is very handy for a car like the Evo8.

I never heard of Worx. I would go with the Blitz, or HKS because there a bigger brand with more experience with turbos.

If you go with HKS or Blitz you will be cutting and welding all day long, the Worx BOV is made just for the EVO8 so it bolts right on. Don't buy a product for the brand name, you will pay more and it may not even be as good as others that you have never heard of.

Are you going to upgrade the intercooler? If you do get an updated intercooler like the Blitz LM (when it comes out) or the HKS intercooler, jusst go with the HKS, or Blitz. If your gonna stay with stock intercooler I guess getting the bolt on might be good. But like I said, I rather go with brand name.
