Ive been looking into getting a project car and ive looked at preludes and eclipses the most and im leaning most to the eclipse now because there easier to find look great and well just great cars. But when i went through some of the consumer reports at my library i cant find anything on the 99s so i was wondering if anyone could tell me where i could find one type one out for me,ect. Ive notice that the 95-97 had some problems so if anyone could also tell me (if any) what problems there where with the 99s and what the severity was that would be greatly appreciated..

i think one thing you have to look out for no matter what year. it's the leaks. they all tend to leak oil/fluid/air at some point and somewhere. just gotta treat it right.

95-99 has a factory recall with (I think) it was the passenger lower tie rod OR ball joint. You can call your local dealer and give them your vin#(If you get the car) and they can tell you. Also, the infamous crankwalk as well the some gsx will lock up the rear differencial. (I don't remember exactly what years that was) It would happen to some of them, not all of them.

You should let us know what kind of eclipse you are interested in! 98-99 eclipses have not been reputed to crankwalk as much as 95-96 (not sure about 97s), but then again, not as many 98-99s have the mileage necessary to acquire a driver or experience bad enough maintenance that can lead to crankwalk!
Overall a fun car that will take a little more work than most--but that's the price you pay for speed!
