Attack of the giant sigs!

Looks like we're having problems with signature size again,there's a few of the newer members who are pushing the limits with the amount of stuff they are trying to stick under every post.

Please limit your sigs to a couple of lines of text,and/or a small
picture.Anything over about 300 x 200 is too big.

As a general guideline,your sig should take up not much more space than your shortest posts.Frankly,the same big ass pictures blocking up the whole screen half a dozen times in the same thread add nothing to the AF experience.

please adjust your sig if you think this applies to you. :smile:

300 x 200 pixels. think of it this way, your avatar can only by 100 x 100, (mines 100 x 83) so only 3 x 2 avatars; yours is a tad big

right click on any picture and click properties, it will tell you how many pixels it is.

(yours are 346 x 260, and 307 x 187, respectively)

I’m the equivalent of 300 x 200 close enough im guessing, if im wrong let me know.

Mine has a pic 300 X 128 with a few lines of text at the bottom...I'm assuming mine's ok.

and according to his "rule", raz kaz, your sig is too big.

Thanks to everyone who has come on board with this one.The rules regarding sigs are fairly flexible,as long as the sig doesn't overpower the messages on the board ,there's room for common sense.

why does the width matter as long as the height is not too large? what if my sig was 150 high by 600 wide? doesn't take up anymore room on the page than if it were 150 high by 200 wide?

I don't mind 600 wide...but we've had people with sigs 1600 wide and that fucks everything up, you have to scroll sideways to see everything.

Plus, another point to considder is that not everyone is on cable, T1, or DSL... If you've got a big fat file in your sig, it'll take alot longer for some folks (Dial-up) to download each thread.

normal viewing size is actually commonly associated with 1024X760 or 800X600 when designing webpages and that was what I was refering to.
